Interior Insulation creates conditioned living space for homeowner in historic house
This homeowner lives in a historic area with a beautiful house. However, when this house was built, insulation was not a priority. With a door on the upstairs that led directly to the attic, cold air continued to come down into the house. Water damage was becoming evident at the chimneys despite the roof being re-flashed and having a slate roof.
The homeowner wanted to insulate the upstairs of his attic, close off areas that air was getting in (kids closet walls, poorly insulated areas behind the sheetrock where the blown in insulation had sagged down and was allowing cold air to get in). He also had the upstairs of his garage that used to be a doctors office - with no insulation. Now, it is fully insulated and ready to be enjoyed. Spray foam - goes where no other insulation can and do it with ease and efficiency!
